National Education for Women's Leadership Program
National Education for Women’s (NEW) Leadership Inland Northwest is a residential institute designed to empower college women to become involved in the political process. Participants interact with women from a variety of political and policy-making positions to develop their own concepts of leadership. To achieve full impact of the program and meet program graduation requirements, participants are expected to attend and actively engage in all scheduled activities and sessions. The 2008 program will be held June 10-13, 2010
Why Apply?
Women are 52% of the voting population, yet they are scarce in our nation’s policy-making and decision-making bodies. You may not like to think about politics, but if you drive a car, worry about education expenses, are concerned about health care issues, care about the environment, volunteer at a local shelter, then politics and government affect you!
Every day important decisions are made that impact your life and future. Those decisions occur in your neighborhood, in your state government, on your campus, and within organizations to which you belong. If you are considering political leadership, want to become involved in the decision-making process or gain the skills necessary to make your voice heard in the political arena, then NEW Leadership is for you. NEW Leadership provides you with the opportunity to interact with women involved in politics, women just like you who are making a difference.
